About Dr. McGary
Dr. McGary, the daughter of a dentist, was born and raised in California. Although she grew up in CA, she considers herself a Washingtonian that was born in the wrong state. She loves the rain!
Early in her career, she attended hygiene school and then practiced dental hygiene in the Snohomish County area for several years before choosing to attend the University of the Pacific, now the Arthur A. Dugoni Dental School in California. She graduated with Honors in 2002 and returned to Snohomish County to begin her dental practice.
Believing strongly in continuing education, she has received advanced training through the Spear Institute and is currently a visiting faculty member at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry in Scottsdale, AZ. Dr. McGary maintains membership in the American Dental Association and its state and local components, the Academy of Women Dentists, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She is also a member of a local Spear study club.
In 2010 and 2011, Dr. McGary was voted by her peers as a topDentists and will be listed again in the January 2012 edition of Seattle Met Magazine as a topDentists, which is considered a singular honor among others in her profession.
Dr. McGary is an avid animal lover and supporter of Beagle Rescue and NOAH (Northwest Organization for Animal Help.) She is the attentive personal assistant to her three beagles, "Forrest, Maya and Lizzie." When she is not pampering her pets, she enjoys quilting, weaving, reading, and scrapbooking.
Introducing Dr. Mahoney, who joined the practice in October.
Dr. Mahoney began her dental career in Arizona in 1990 as a pediatric dental assistant. After 8 years of general and pediatric dental assisting, she went to college to become a dental hygienist and graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, in 1998. After graduation, a job opportunity took her to Luzern, Switzerland, where she practiced dental hygiene for 3 years.
After moving back to the states for dental school, she graduated, with honors, from Boston University School of Dental Medicine. She went on to complete a competitive residency at The University of Nevada School of Medicine. During her residency, she received intensive training in general dentistry, hospital dentistry, implant dentistry and sedation. Upon completion of residency, she and her husband, who works in emergency medicine, moved to Washington to be close to family.
Washington is her final home, but through her many moves and travels she has gained life experiences. She feels that these experiences make her able to communicate and work with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Besides her work in private practice, Dr. Mahoney is also affiliate faculty at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. She says that she loves being a dentist because it allows her to help improve a person's health and smile. She finds it rewarding to get to know her patients and really understand their individual expectations and desires in regards to their oral health.
Dr. Mahoney is an active member of the American Dental Association and its state and local components, the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Meet Our Dental Hygienists
>Hi! I'm Becky
I am a Restorative Dental Hygienist. I've been a Hygienist for 20 years, graduating from the Dental Hygiene Program in Anchorage, AK. I moved to the PNW about 5 years ago after 30 years in Alaska. I feel very much at home here and haven't regretted one moment!
I've been with Dr. McGary at Cedar Family Dentistry for 3 years. During that time I obtained my Restorative endorsement on my Hygiene license. This allows me to place and finish silver and tooth colored fillings. I really enjoy placing fillings, it has been rewarding and challenging.
In my time off, I am forever working on or planning my next project for my house or yard. I live in Marysville with my adorable canine companions: Bailey, Buddy Ray, and Jack-Jack.
>Hi! My name is Robin
